Expert knowledge on migration in the public arena : How to get your message through?

In this talk I will share my experiences as a public intellectual in the public and political debate on migration, integration and refugees in the Netherlands in the past 5 years. What are the do’s and dont’s of expert knowlegde and advice and how to evade counterproductive media frames? But also, how media engagement can have a positive feed back loop and strengthen fundamental research and deepening scientific insights.
